Hon. ANJOH

The Commissioner for Education, Sports and Cultural Development at the North West Regional Assembly, Professor Anjoh Frii-Manyi Rose has been in Mbengwi for exactly a week. She was in the Momo divisional headquarters for the launching of the Peace and Development Initiative (PDI) of the assembly.

Hon. In Action.

As divisional coordinator of the project, she led a delegation of regional councillors and house of chiefs members that are of Momo origin to Mbengwi. Professor Anjoh entered Mbengwi earlier on to begin laying the ground works for the effective launching.

Hon. Launching of Sporting Activities in Mbengwi

On Thursday March March 9, when she stepped out of the guest house where she lodged in G.R.A Mbengwi, it was time for business with one focus, positive results. As someone who doesn't entertain failure, Prof. Manyi went straight to the meeting venue to ensure all was set for the   launching of activities for the implementation of the Peace and Development Initiative of the North West Regional Assembly for Momo and capacity building seminar for peace crusaders, actors of Community Decentralised Activities in the five subdivisions of Momo.

It was in the conference hall of the Divisional Delegation of Labour and Social Security that the meeting took place. At starting time, the project coordinator and others cued outside to receive the Senior Divisional Officer of Momo, Fouda Etaba Bernoit Nicaise and his etat major into the hall.

In a keynote address by the coordinator, Prof. Anjoh Frii-Manyi Rose did a special presentation on  the Special Statues, revealing that it guarantees the protection of the Anglophone subsystem of education, gives the two regions part of the responsibility for their development, gives equal access to local services and opens the possibility of impeachment of councillors.

Community interactions.

On Friday March 10, the commissioner continued stamping her feet on the ground, creating an impact that had been missing in the socio cultural and sporting life of the division for long. Day two of the activities was for sports and culture. Clad in a beautifully marked "togho" gown and an umbrella-like cap was Professor Anjoh. She was reserved the lone executive office chair in the tribune where she sat watching the activities as they unfolded. Flanked to her left, right and behind were other top notch politicians and elites of the division like all the five mayors of Momo, the two MPs of Momo, municipal councillors from all the five councils in the division, traditional authorities, the CPDM senatorial candidate, Central Committee member H.R.H Chick Marcus and the population.

A sequence of traditional dances, football girls and boys, culinary and craft exhibition were some of the activities organised y the regional assembly as part of the launching of the peace project. The football girls that reached at penalty shootouts was very interesting as the first cycle girls of G.H.S Tudig clashed with those of the second circle and in football boys, it was Mbengwi United that swallowed Widikum Strikers at post match penalties to lift the converted golden trophy of the regional assembly.

Considering that it was also a weekend of election, the ruling Cameroon People's Democratic Movement (CPDM) had brought all its councillors to Mbengwi for the voting of a new senator. As part of campaigns, there was a football and handball match pitting the councillors of Momo East Constituency (Batibo and Mbengwi) against those of Momo West Constituency (Widikum, Njikwa, Andek). After having ended her PDI/CDA launching phase, she will then fit herself into witnessing some of the activities being carried out by the party.

Hon. Interating with the population

On Friday when the head of the campaign team in Momo division, Minister Mbah Acha Rose of Supreme State Audit visited Mbengwi to appease the councillors, Professor Anjoh Fri was there. When the councillors turned players were playing football and handball, she was still part of the whole show.

Her one week stay in Mbengwi ended on Sunday 12 March 2023 as she visited the Mbengwi Council to witness the election exercise of a new senator that will represent Momo division in the Upper House of the assembly, the Senate.  The Regional Assembly would've come to Momo and returned but the impact of its visit is what was left behind.

Hon. ANJOH.

In the days ahead, the implementation phase of the project will commence across all k subdivisions and will see hundreds of persons employed and each paid above the minimum wage prescribed by the state in executing a total of 11 earmarked projects that have to do with road rehabilitation, electricity and water supply for the betterment of livelihoods and development of the division.
