CCMN NW: MEMBERS TASKED TO UPHOLD HUMANITARIAN REPORTING

CCMN Members  Members of the Cameroon Community Media Network CCMN within the North West Region, have been fortified professionally with updated skills on humanitarian reporting, peace journalism and solution oriented reporting. This was the outcome of a one day capacity building organized by the Peace Office of the Presbyterian Church in Cameroon(PCC). The members who came from different divisions of the North West Region were urged to refrain from the traditional way of reporting to a humanitarian way of reporting which promotes a peaceful and solution building society.  The six hour workshop which took place in Bamenda over the weekend, laid the foundation towards the second series of print and audio-visual peace productions with a special focus on having members of the network, include aspects of humanitarian reporting reflected in all the contents expected to be produced in the days ahead. Intermediate Lions  The Intermediate lions of Cameroon have qualified to play the quarter finals of the ongoing African Nations Championship CHAN 2020 organize in Cameroon.  After finishing the group stage of the competition on the second position i  group A, the Intermediate Lions moves to the knockouts stage just like in 2011 and in 2016. The intermediate Lions secured a victory against Zambabwe 1 goal to zero during their first outing, in the second game, team captain Banga Bindjeme Salomon and his team mates were held to a 1 all tied against Mali.  In their last group game played on Sunday January 24, 2021, a nill game against Burkina Fasso was enough to push the lions to the second round of the 6th edition of CHAN.   Governor, R.A President and R.A Vice President  The Governor of the North West Region Adolphe Lele Lafrique representative of the state of Cameroon on Friday January 22, 2021 officially installed and presented to the public the Regional Assembly President, the Vice and members of the executive bureau.  In a colorful event attended by Members of government, representatives of the upper and lower houses of parliament and elites of the Region, the 8 executive of members who were elected on December 22,2020 were tasked by the Governor to serve the people of the region. Regional Boss Fecafoot The 2020/2021 North West regional championship has been launched in Bamenda chief town of the North West region at a time when many football players and fans had been wandering if football will ever be played given the out break of the Covid-19 pandemic which posed a threat to the sports in the country and beyond as well as coupled with the ongoing crisis. The launch of the regional league in the NW comes as the Fecafoot NW scribe Ndi Tsembom Elvis had in a general assembly meeting of December 23, 2020 announced the kickoff of the regional league and stating how the league will run before and after the CHAN competition hosted by Cameroon. SOCIAL SAFETY PROVIDES FINANCIAL SUPPORT TO 3500 PERSONS.

Beneficiaries  A total of 3500 persons within the three subdivisions that make up Bamenda have benefited from financial assistant from the Social Safty Net project. They received they Payment at the esplanade of the North West governor's office on Thursday December 29,2020. The Social Safty net is a project initiated inorder to help alleviate poverty in communities suffering from both man made or Natural crisis. Achiri Desmond "The project has four components and in Bamenda as of now, two of them are going on, that is the emergency cash transfer normal and the emergency cash transfer for COVID-19 which the payment will be done in the days ahead." said Achiri Desmond relay officer Bamenda III.
