TWO GOALS FROM BANGA, SAVES FROM HASCHOU TAKES CAMEROON TO THE KNOCKOUTS


Intermediate Lions 

The Intermediate lions of Cameroon have qualified to play the quarter finals of the ongoing African Nations Championship CHAN 2020 organize in Cameroon.

 After finishing the group stage of the competition on the second position i  group A, the Intermediate Lions moves to the knockouts stage just like in 2011 and in 2016. The intermediate Lions secured a victory against Zambabwe 1 goal to zero during their first outing, in the second game, team captain Banga Bindjeme Salomon and his team mates were held to a 1 all tied against Mali.

 In their last group game played on Sunday January 24, 2021, a nill game against Burkina Fasso was enough to push the lions to the second round of the 6th edition of CHAN. Cameroon is placed second in group A with 5 points just behind Mali who tops the group with 7 points.  

The head coach Ndtougou Mpili Martin and his boys will therefore be travelling to Douala to lock horns with the first in group B at the Japoma Omisport stadium on Saturday January 30,2021. Meanwhile Mali travels back to Yaounde to host the second in group B on the same date. 

Haschou Kerido 

 Shots stopper Haschou Kerido of PWD of Bamenda and defender Bindjeme Salomon Banga of Cotonsport of Garoua who doubles as the team captain, have both shown their respectively prowess during the first pharse of the tournament. Haschou Kerido voted "man of the match" during the second game played against Mali has so far proven that he is one of the best goalkeepers in the country, thereby justifying the reasons why he has two caps for the senior Men's National team.

On his part team captain Banga Bindjeme being the lone scorer for the Lions as of now, has been described by many as a revelation in this year's competition.

 Finishing the first round of CHAN 2020, team Cameroon has score 2 goals, conceiving 1. All the two goals were scored by a defender. As the lion move to the second round of the tournament, more work is expected to be done at the level of the midfield and specifically at the attack line.

BAFUT SUBDIVISION: SOLDIERS SALUTED FOR JOB WELL DONE.

Materials recovered from Bafut  300 soldiers headed by Colonel Matiang Charles Alain have successfully carried out different operations in Bafut Subdivision one of the stronghole of separatists fighters in the North West Region.  For 6 days the soldiers were able to infiltrate some of the hideout of those who  referred to themselves as "Ambazonia fighters" Brigadier General Nka Valere  To access the operations, the Commander of the 5th Military Region, Brigadier General Nka Valere and the Commander of the 5th Gendarmerie Region, Brigadier General Ekongwese Divine alongside other top military officials in the Region were on the field on Friday May 1, 2020.
