Some communities in the North West Region have benefited from the Second phase of the safety net project. Family photo. The beneficiaries of the last phase of Micro funding and civil status documents drawn from Belo and Benakuma municipalities flooded the esplanade of the North West Governor’s office on Thursday November 14, 2019 to receive their package from the hands of the National Coordinator of Safety Net Cameroon Mr. Njoh Michelin.   Mayor giving the traditional bag and chair to the national coordinator. While welcoming the national bureau of the project to Bamenda, the mayor of Belo Mr Tefu Emmanual Awonsang thank the stake holders of the project for changing the lives of more than one thousand families in over twenty five villages in Belo sub Division since 2017, when this phase of the project was launched. Muslim Scholar and Activist Abdul Karim triumphantly received in Bamenda after his released Abdul Karim riding on a horse. The Muslim scholar and Activist Abdul Karim Ali who was arrested on September 24, 2019 in Yaounde and later taken to SED, few minutes after he left the Swiss embassy has been released.   At his arrival to Bamenda on Tuesday November 5, Abdul Karim was triumphantly welcomed by the Muslim and Non-Muslim communities at Finance Junction. lead by an escorted by bike riders to his mile 3 Nkwen residence while on a horse, he waved at the population who came out in their numbers to welcome him. Another huge crowd alongside some dance groups, received him at the entrance into his house, while chanting songs of welcome. Feel with lots of joy, the Muslim scholar burst into tears infront of his house and immediately move towards his mother's room and embrace her, while praising Allah for reuniting him with his family. A Human Rights/Digital Rights awareness workshop have been organised in Bamenda to trained Journalists, bloggers and CSOs.  The over 30 Journalists, Bloggers and Representatives of the Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) converged in the conference hall at the Bamenda Regional hospital on Thursday October 31, 2019 to acquire knowledge on the Basic principles of Human Rights vis-a-vis Digital Rights in Africa and Cameroon in particular.
