The beneficiaries of the last phase of Micro funding and civil status documents drawn from Belo and Benakuma municipalities flooded the esplanade of the North West Governor’s office on Thursday November 14, 2019 to receive their package from the hands of the National Coordinator of Safety Net Cameroon Mr. Njoh Michelin.

While welcoming the national bureau of the project to Bamenda, the mayor of Belo Mr Tefu Emmanual Awonsang thank the stake holders of the project for changing the lives of more than one thousand families in over twenty five villages in Belo sub Division since 2017, when this phase of the project was launched. The mayor further exclaimed that with the help of Safety Net, the beneficiaries have been able to take care of their basic health needs, over a thousand Birth certificates and other civil status documents have been established. The mayor was however sad that due the socio political crisis in the Region, it difficult for parents to send their children to school and that most of the inhabitant are now internally displace persons in different localities. The mayor pleaded with the national coordinator to think of Belo again during the next phase of the project.
 On behave of the community the Mayor hand over a traditional chair and bag to the national of coordinator in appreciation.

On his part the national coordinator of safety Net Cameroon Mr Njoh Michilin thank the Governor the of the North West Region for his assistance in the realization of the project despite the socio political crisis in the North West and South West Regions, quoting that Governor of the North West Region at a certain moment made available his private telephone number and provided the military helicopter to help access some communities in funding and Benakuma during project. He equally thank the Senior Divisional Officers, the Divisional Officers and the Mayors for making the project a success in respective areas of command.

To the beneficiaries the Coordinator saluted their efforts and pleaded that they make proper use of the financial aid from Safety Net.
The coordinator announced that the next phase of the project which will run from 2020 to 2022 shall witness an increase from 6 municipalities to 26 municipalities.

Before significantly handing over to the beneficiaries from Belo and Benakuma the birth certificates and a sum of francs CFA 80.000 each, the Secretory General at the Governor’s office Mr Viang Mekala on behave of the Governor thank Safety Net and its main funder which is the World Bank for making the North West Region part of the project. The Secretory General equally encourage the recipients to send their children to school so as to guarantee their future.
