Who is the "devil" within PWD of Bamenda sending prolific and promising players away?

For the past two seaons some key and promising players have parted ways with the Public Works Department Social Football Club of Bamenda in an unfriendly manner. One will quickly asked the question, why should these players who greatly contributed for the team to be crowned champions of Cameroon league one for the 2019/2020 football season left the ranks of the Abakwa boys in a unfriendly manner?. Some at the eve of when the team was preparing to go international;

 "Playing international is the dream of every football players, How will a player prefer to leave at a time the team is going international?". One of the fans Pondered.

After a very difficult 2018/2019 football season, the Abakwa boys were maintained in Division one and given a new challenge for the team, the management of the club headed by the President General Abunde Pascal when for the dynamic Pagou David who came alongside some "no name" players to Bamenda with one mission, that is writing their names in the golden books of football in the country with the colours of PWD of Bamenda. 

 These new players in a short time were able to adapt and merge with the already talented old boys of the club. With the technicality of Coach Pagou added to the discipline he brought into the team, the Bamenda most charished side was able to produced one of her best ever football season since the creation in 1962. 

A fan with the 2019/2020 trophy 

Their performance in the 2019/2020 football season will take them to the top of the classification table at the time when the ugly Corona virus emerged and the league prematurely came to an end and the Abakwa boys were proclaimed Champions of Cameroon for the 2019/2020 football season. 

 Being Champions of Cameroon means representing the country at the CAF Champions League, perhaps this was when the devil started showing its urgle face, that is at a time when the team needed to be solid so as to face other Champions across Africa. 

Leon Boyomo 

First was the announcement that the highest goal scorer for the season Leon Boyomo had demanded his liberation from the Club, this sounded as a joke to many but was however confirmed that the goal hunter for PWD of Bamenda was leaving.

 

Rodrigue Zama

Before this could be digested by the fans, another news step in that Rodrigue Zame, the Goalkeeper who stood in between the sticks and made history by keeping a record of 8 cleansheets for the team was equally leaving. It was later confirmed when he was not seen around the club during their pre-season competitions.

Ade Mienolf

 At this same period a midfielder like no other in his time, Ade Mienolf to had left the team unceremoniously tag with indiscipline. 

The departure of the above players and others, however will not mean alot to the team because fresh and more talented players had been recruited to replace the gap. 

Yankam Basil

Many did not see this coming as one of the players out of the three from PWD of Bamenda that were part of the African Nations Championship (CHAN) staged in Cameroon will announced that he will no longer play for PWD of Bamenda, According to to Basil Yankam, the condition playing for the Bamenda base team were not favorable. His withdrawal came few weeks after the team had played the preliminary game of the CAF Champions League and were eliminated by Kaiser Cheifs of South Africa.

Hamzat and Samuel

While waiting for the start of the 2020/2021 football season, some other players like the two Nigerians, Hamzat Ibrahim Onotu and Emmanuel Samuel just to name but these vanished without any official announcements from the team.

Mbah Louis, who captained PWD of Bamenda during the CAF Champions League and in other competitions was visibly absent at the start of the 2020/2021 Football season. Given that the talented midfielder had just renew his contract with the team, no one could imagine that something else apart from injury could have held him back.  As the season moved on, it was revealed that Mbah Louis was under suspension for in discipline, after successfully serving the suspension given him, many fans were happy seeing Mbah training with the team again, their joy was however cut short when the news break that Mbah Louis had been liberated from the team and his contract terminated.

What could be the reasons that these players and others are leaving the team?. What can be in the minds of the players who are still with the team? And Who is next to leave the team if nothing is done?. 

 The wish of every fan is to see their team win with the best players around.  It is the duty of the management to identify that devil if actually there is one and sent it away before its frighten more players away.
