North West Region builds a strong wall against Covid 19

The Governor of North West Region Adolph Lele l'Afrique has called on the population to strictly respect hygiene and sanitation measures put in place by Government to contain the Corona virus.

The Governor made the statement in Bamenda on Wednesday March 18, 2020 as he chaired a crises meeting attended by some key stakeholders including health, transport and top security officers in the Region. Henceforth only emergency meetings will be authorised in the Region and with a maximum of fifty persons and measures must be taken to secure participants. He has also advised that all burial ceremonies programmed already be postponed including wedding parties that often than not bring together a huge crowd.

On his part the North West Regional Delegate for for public Health Dr. Kingsley Che Soh said all measures have been put in place to takle any suspected case of the Covid 19 in the North west Region. He equally caution the population to respect the measures put in place in order to stay safe from the virus.

 For now churches have not been stopped from operating in the Region, the chief executive officer of the Region however appreciated the steps taken by some Churches already to protect their Christians.
 The New City mayor was also instructed to immediately get to work with his technical services to reduce overcrowding in the different markets in city of Bamenda.

 Concerning the election rerun in some constituencies in the Region, elecam officials have already taken measures to reduce overcrowding in polling stations. Also court proceedings have been suspended in the Region but litigations of the just ended municipal elections are ongoing at the level of the administrative court.
He is upbit that if all the measures put in place by the state, to the North West will stay Convid 19 free, for now no case of the infection has been recorded across the Region..

BAFUT SUBDIVISION: SOLDIERS SALUTED FOR JOB WELL DONE.

Materials recovered from Bafut  300 soldiers headed by Colonel Matiang Charles Alain have successfully carried out different operations in Bafut Subdivision one of the stronghole of separatists fighters in the North West Region.  For 6 days the soldiers were able to infiltrate some of the hideout of those who  referred to themselves as "Ambazonia fighters" Brigadier General Nka Valere  To access the operations, the Commander of the 5th Military Region, Brigadier General Nka Valere and the Commander of the 5th Gendarmerie Region, Brigadier General Ekongwese Divine alongside other top military officials in the Region were on the field on Friday May 1, 2020.
