NORTHWEST REGIONAL YOUTH SUMMIT, PRODUCES NEXT GENERATION LEADERS

Youths in the North West Region have taken an engagement to be good examples in the society after  taken part at the first ever edition of the Youth Summit organized in Bamenda.

The North West Regional Youth summit first of it kind tookplace from November 19 to 20, 2021 at the Alliance Francais hall in Bamenda under the theme "A New Breed for the new generation". 

For the two days, the young persons acquired knowledge on leadership in politics and administration, leadership in education, economics and science, spiritual leadership just to name but this. The various facilitators who are experts in the respective fields took time to explained and interact with the youths who also shared their opinions on the different topics.

The vision bearer of the North West Regional youth summit Mr. Ndifon Peterson says the idea behind such an initiative is to bring together young people within the Region for them to discover their God given potentials.

"The idea behind this summit is to inspire young persons to believe in themselves, to inspire them in different aspects of leadership and also to help them to become argent of peace and development". Said Peterson.

The representative of the Bamenda City Mayor, Mr. Mekom Samuel pledged the full support of the Bamenda City Council to the youths who he encouraged to develop and present feasible projects.

"The City Council is here to support this youths in whatsoever initiative they want to engage in, any youth who wants to go entrepreneurial or do business, the City Council is ready to accompany them." Said Mekom Samuel.

The presence of the Divisional Delegate for Youth Affairs and Civic Education for Mezam, Mr. Signs Kasiney Gama gave more weight to the summit as he encouraged the youths to be good examples in the society by defending the skills gained at the Summit.

"This are rare occasion when you seat amongst close to 500 youths for a particular youth development activity. It is a feeling of satisfaction to have this youths here acquiring knowledge on leadership skills that will help tham in their various spheres of life." Said the Divisional Delegate.

The Youth Summit comes at a time when the 5 years old crisis in the North West and South West Regions has youths as the main actors on the ground, this youths at close of the summit promise to be a good example in their respective communities so as to absorb other youths who might have been derail to regained their normal lifes and together contruction a strong and better nation.

    This is a great initiative. We thank God for our Delegate who is doing all he can to bring young people together for a reasonable goal. Too bad I was not part. I wish to attend such programs.

BAFUT SUBDIVISION: SOLDIERS SALUTED FOR JOB WELL DONE.

Materials recovered from Bafut  300 soldiers headed by Colonel Matiang Charles Alain have successfully carried out different operations in Bafut Subdivision one of the stronghole of separatists fighters in the North West Region.  For 6 days the soldiers were able to infiltrate some of the hideout of those who  referred to themselves as "Ambazonia fighters" Brigadier General Nka Valere  To access the operations, the Commander of the 5th Military Region, Brigadier General Nka Valere and the Commander of the 5th Gendarmerie Region, Brigadier General Ekongwese Divine alongside other top military officials in the Region were on the field on Friday May 1, 2020.
