As the Abakwa boys prepare to face Astres of Douala at the finals of the Cup Cameroon on a date still to be announced, the team is intensifying training at the Mateko sport Complex of the University of Yaounde 1 Campus.

Coach Pagou David has taken upon himself not only to physically trained the players of PWD Social Club of Bamenda, but has equally opted to give them psychosocial support and advice as they pursue their football carrier.

"Am not only a coach, am equally an instructor and a teacher, each day before we start training, I make sure that I talk to them. They are all my children, many have past through this stage of life and made alot of wrong decisions which damage their future" said Pagou David.

The Coach added that the future of footballers especially in Cameroon is not that bright given the kind of management at the level of the Federation and therefore while playing football, these players should be thinking beyong. However he appreciated and encouraged some of the players who are already engaged into business and other activities.

It is evident that millions of football players are hoping to make it big in the nearest future, however the reality is that, only few out of the millions of player, end up having professional contracts which can better their lives and that of their love ones.

"Amongst you, only one or two players might go pro, it might still happen that non of you succeed in this journey; if this is the case, what becomes of your life?. I therefore encourage you all that while playing be thinking of other alternatives." Said Caoch Pagou to the players.

Coach  Pagou David told the players to always put God first in all that they do. He encouraged them to always pray and ask the Almighty God to grant them their desires with a sincere heart and being a Faithful God, He will grant it to them. He quoted himself as an example of what prayers is doing to his life.

"When I pray and ask God for something, He gives me, sometimes am really down and as soon as i talk to God He intervenes, so I encourage you to always pray. As player pray for victory, pray to score goals, pray for a bright future." :Pagou David.

Talking on humility, the trainer cautioned the players to always keep good relationship with everyone that cross their way especially those who help them in one way or the other.

"When you keep a good relationship with someone, that person secretly prays for your success. I ways tell them not to forget those who help them and that if they make it, they should not forget to come back and say thank you and even give them something. It is very important.":Pagou David.

While hoping that after the elections at the Cameroon Football Federation(FECAFOOT), the elected officials will change the face of football in the country, as of now the future of footballers in Cameroon remains uncertain, therefore these players are encouraged to prepare their lives after Football giving that their chances of going professional are very slim.
