ANGLOPHONE CRISIS :FORMER CPDM MUYUKA MAYOR NKENG MICHAEL APPEALS FOR FRANK DAILOGUE.

As the 4 years old armed conflict in the North west and South West Regions of Cameroon rages on and gets more bloody as days go by, the former mayor of the Muyuka Council, a locality in Fako Division, in the South West Region , Chief Nkeng Micheal Akamin, has joined his voice to that of others to appeal for frank Dialogue as a means towards ending the onging daily blood shade in the English speaking part of Cameroon. 

 The astute politician per excellence was regretting the inhumane atrocities committed in what is now referred to as the Anglophone Crisis in the North West and South West Regions, during a recent press conference at Chariot Hotel in Buea. According to the Cameroonian accomplished political heavyweight ,there is no winner in the current battle between the government and Pro Separatist fighters ,because all persons been killed daily are Cameroonians.

To buttress this point ,the business mogul remarked that at the beginning of the crisis ,Pro Separatist fighters had just local weapons like dean guns,rubber guns,machetes but now ,they have sophisticated weapons. To him both parties invovled in the war needs to sit on the same table for a frank and unbiased dialogue which is the way out.This is a call that has been reiteratedly echoed by other top and renown politicians at national and International level. 

The man who was Mayor of Muyuka Council for 6 years before bowing out in the last Municipal election believes that the best way for development to reach a people is through effective descentralisation which is practice across the world.

As a development expert who has traveled across the globe, urges government to empower mayors so that they can be able to carry out developmental projects. He however warned that if government does not engage in frank dialogue now,the demand might be too heavy at the end. 

The international business magnet also enumerated his massive damages and losses recorded at CHARIOT COMPANY,which included the destruction of a D7 Caterpillar worth FCFA 100 million,a road grader (FCFA 43 million ),a pick-up vehicle(FCFA 3 million) and also the destruction of other office equipments,during this crisis period.

The crisis which started in late October 2016, has led to the death of thousands, close to a million now seeking refuge in other friendly countries, while more than Half a million are Internally Displaced Persons,IDPs,going by the United Nations. 

The CEO of CHARIOT HOTEL further lamented that the government of Cameroon had announced that they were going to assist private companies affected by Corona Virus with financial aid,but till date his institution has not receive any franc from the government in the portion which was allocated to the private sector,at a time when some government ministers have been accused of embelzelling a greater share of the FCFA 180 Billion borrowed from the World Bank to fight the virus in what is now known as the COVIDGATE.
