PSS MANKON, BAFUT MAYOR HANDS OVER REFURBISHED DORMITORY 3 MONTHS AFTER FIRE INCIDENT

The Mayor and the school Administration 

The Mayor of Bafut council Ngwakongoh Lawerence on Thursday April 15, 2021 was on the Campus of PSS Mankon to hand over a refurbished building where students of PSS Bafut now Study due to the insecurity in Bafut Subdivision.

His visit was aimed at handing over of a refurbished dormitory which was hosting students of PSS Bafut before been consumed by fire in January 2021, the Mayor was accompanied by the Honorable Member of Parliament for Bafut Tubah constituency Hon. Agho Oliver alongside a host of Regional Assembly members.

Mayor Ngwakongho Lawerence and Hon. Agho Oliver took turns to encourage the students to take their academics serious while working in collaboration with the school administration to ensure their security and property while on campus.

 "This scholarship is to boost the students to work hard despite the numerous challenges. The member of Parliament for Bafut-Tubah and Myself will sponsore the students 20 of them till the end of our mandate"
said Mayor Ngwakongho.

In response to the visitors and on behalf of the two schools, the Principal of PSS Mankon Dr. Mbaku Henry appreciated the gesture and challenged the students to work hard inorder to obtain the scholarship offer by the august guest. The principal promised to inform the Moderator of the PCC who doubles as the proprietor of their visit.

M.P Bafut-Tubah 

Since the fire incident in January 2021, the City mayor of Bamenda, the Mayor of Bamenda II and other top officials of the Region including the Governor Adolphe Lele Lafrique have been on the campus of PSS Mankon to assist the students especially those who lost valuables in the fire.
