CAMEROON BAR ASSOCIATION SWEARS IN 17 FORIEGN TRAINED ADVACATES

In a solemn session at the North West Apeal court in Bamenda on Friday April 9, 2021, 17 newly admitted advacates in to the Cameroon Bar Association each took turns to take an oath before God and Man as they take on their legal Career. The absent of the 11th advocate reduced the number from 18 to 17.

"I swear as an avocate to perform my duties as counsel for the defense or legal adviser in total independence in dignity, consciousness, probity, humanness in accordance with the ethics of my profession and with due respect to the courts and tribunals and law of the Republic".

16 of those admitted into the Cameroon Bar Association were trained in Nigeria while one was trained in Rwanda and were all members of the Bar Association of the respective countries. They were all admitted into the Cameroon Bar Association on January 16, 2021 after the Association saw them fit and qualify.
The newly admitted advacates have been challenged to be good examples as they fully embark on their legal Journey, they were equally advised not to limit themselves only to legal literatures given the several opportunities that they are exposed to.

At the end of the Solemn court session, it was declared that the 17 advacates have been duely admitted into the surpreme court of Cameroon with resident in Bamenda and can now practice in accordance with laws that governs the legal Profession.
