BAMENDA II COUNCIL STEPS UP MEASURES FOR REVENUE COLLECTION, "IT'S TIME TO REGAIN OFFICE AT MBINGFIBIE" MEZAM S.D.O TELLS COUNCILLORS.

In the presence of the Senior Division Officer for Mezam Simon Emile Moh and councillors of the Bamenda II Council, Mayor Chenwi Peter during the Administrative and Management account session of the Council for 2020 holding on Friday April 16, 2021, Challenged the councillors to work out new ways for revenue collection so as to step up the budget of the Council. 

 Mayor Chenwi Peter stated that the expected budget for council in 2020 was FCFA 1.4 billion, however the budget for 2020 stood at FCFA 925 million far below the expected amount budgeted. Out of this amount FCFA 661 was spent with a balance of FCFA 264.

 According to the Mayor despite the insecurity and the health pandemic that slowdown most activities in 2020, the Council was still able to rehabilitate some major roads within the Bamenda II Municipality, the realisation of the Public Investment Project for 2020, staged a strong fight against the health pandemic, partner with head quarters to facilitate the development process of the municipality amongst others. 

 On his part the Senior Division officer for Mezam Simon Emile Moh, appreciated the efforts of the Bamenda II Council for their outstanding achievements since taking over office one year ago, he however challenged them to regain their original base in Mbingfibie which he said the government with the help of FEICOM had invested billions on the Bamenda II Council building. Given that the salaries of some council workers have not been paid for some time now, the S.D.O promised that all will be done for their areas to be cleared off. 

 Its was also delibrated at the session that new service Vehicles and heavy trucks will be purchased and the old ones be laid off the council yard, this as the council looks forward for giant projects in 2021.
