PEACE AWARD 2020: PCC PEACE OFFICE RECOGNIZES ATIGI SAMUEL, NJOMO, CARDINAL TUMI FOR PROMOTING PEACE


 
The trophies Peace Award 2020

Three outstanding Cameroonians have been awarded the 2020 Peace Award, organized by the Presbyterian Church in Cameroon PCC Peace Office born from the training of trainers on conflict transformation.

The Peace Award which is in its second edition took place on Friday September 18, 2020 at the PCC Synod Office Hall in Buea in the presence of the Moderator of the PCC the Rt. Rev. Fonki Samuel Forba who was the pioneer winner of the Peace Award same time in 2019.

According to the National Peace Coordinator of the PCC, Rev Nta William Nche, this year's edition witness the introduction of two other categories, that is the Youth and Female categories. He further explained the rule that the youth and the women are playing in preaching and promoting peace in the society.

While introducing this year's laureates, the National program's officer of the PCC Peace Office Ntui Oben Obi Agbor presented their rich profiles which lead to earned this year's Award.

Atigi Samuel, Laurate Youth Category 

Atigi Samuel Motom, winner of the Youth category is the Founder of the Mandela Voluntary Foundation Cameroon in 2013 with the motive for promoting Volunteerism, Advocacy and capacity building Amongst young people. Despite the challenges in the North West and South West Regions, Atigi Samuel has facilitated the distribution of humanitarian aid to vulnerable persons across difficult area in the North West Region. In 2018 and 2019 Atigi led different delegations to Nigeria over 4 times to comfort and to handover Materials, Foodstuffs and Psycho Social support to over 25, 000 Cameroonain Refugees. At 26, Atigi Samuel has impacted close to 30,000 young people directly and indirectly.

Mm. Njomo Espe Omam Esther

In the Female Category, Madam Njomo Espe Omam Esther, the brain behind the North West South West Women's Task Force, an organization made of Women from the crisis Regions had since the escalation of the crisis has always raise their voices against the killings of those they consider their children be military, Non state Arm groups and civilian.

His Eminence Christian Cardinal 

His Eminence Christian Cardinal Tumi a Peace Crusader who has always want to stand in for the organizations of the All Anglophone General Conference to seek a lasting Solution to the on going crisis in the North West and South West Regions. In addition to his rich Religious Background, Christian Cardinal Tumi was voted as the Man of Peace for this year's edition of the Peace Award.

At the close of the Awards ceremony, the Moderator of the PCC, Rt Rev. Fonki appreciated the effort of the Peace Office and prayed that the Peace Award should be stay off politics. The Father the PCC Rev Fonki in the same voice with the National Peace Coordinator, the Rev Nta both encouraged others to work for peace so as to be the next Laurates of the peace Award.

BAFUT SUBDIVISION: SOLDIERS SALUTED FOR JOB WELL DONE.

Materials recovered from Bafut  300 soldiers headed by Colonel Matiang Charles Alain have successfully carried out different operations in Bafut Subdivision one of the stronghole of separatists fighters in the North West Region.  For 6 days the soldiers were able to infiltrate some of the hideout of those who  referred to themselves as "Ambazonia fighters" Brigadier General Nka Valere  To access the operations, the Commander of the 5th Military Region, Brigadier General Nka Valere and the Commander of the 5th Gendarmerie Region, Brigadier General Ekongwese Divine alongside other top military officials in the Region were on the field on Friday May 1, 2020.
