The National Employment Fund through its three main services seeks to tackle youth unemployment in the North West Region. An expert from the institution Munya Janet while attending the forum on job creation said the services target project bearers, skilled and unskilled labour and newly graduated students.

“If they have the skills, they are given technicalities on how to search for the jobs if they do not have the skills, they are sent to the training department for those who come out freshly from school, we insert them under a pre-employment internship where they can be illegible to pick up jobs.” The expert said.

The Member of Parliament for Momo East constituency Hon. Injoh Prudencia said she has identified herself with the employment project which she describes as a life line foru many youths in the Region.

MP Momo East
“The forum today on information as a tool to maximize youth employment is very important for me as Member of Parliament because I sponsored young people, who came from Mbengwi to be part of this forum. I sponsored them in the sense that while here, they will acquire sufficient knowledge to be able to startup their own business when the micro-credit will be given to them, If they do not have sufficient know-how, most of them will get into ventures that will not be profitable and they can even embezzle the money.” Hon. Injoh said
