BAMENDA; MINSANTE SECRETARY OF STATE CALLS FOR SYNERGY TO FIGHT COVID-19

The secretary of state in the Ministery of public health in charge of epidemics and pandemics, HE Alim Hayatou was in Bamenda on Friday May 15, 2020 to take stock on measures put in place to control the corona virus.
Up on his arrival into the North West Region, he visited the covid-19 Screening post at Matazem from there his Convoy took off to the low cost houses at up station Bamenda where future cases of covid-19 patients will be admitted.

The secretary of state and his close collaborators appreciated the Covid-19 incident Command Center, the Covid-19 treatment Center, the site choosen to construct the isolation ward, the pre-isolation ward, diagnostic laboratory and the production unit of Hydro Alcoholic solution all at the promises of the Bamenda Regional Hospital.

From the hospital, the delegation visited the Covid-19 Quarantine and treatment center at Azam hotel where some patients are presently responding to treatment.

The director of the Regional hospital Bamenda, Dr. Denis Nsame use the occasion to plead for more staff especially in domain of mental health, he said that the hospital has just one mental nurse who can not meet with the task of giving psycho social support to the personnels and the patients who are both traumatize with the present situation.

According to the secretary of state in the Ministery of public health, covid-19 is a global humanitarian health problem and that all forces rally  together and fight against the pandemics
Working session at Ayaba hotel 
The visit of H.E Alim Hayatou ended with a working session at ayaba hotel with top officials in the Region, here the Governor of North West Region Adolph Lele Lafrque and the North West Regional Delegate for Public health Kingsley Che Soh both presented the situation of the Covid-19 response in the North West Region.

BAFUT SUBDIVISION: SOLDIERS SALUTED FOR JOB WELL DONE.

Materials recovered from Bafut  300 soldiers headed by Colonel Matiang Charles Alain have successfully carried out different operations in Bafut Subdivision one of the stronghole of separatists fighters in the North West Region.  For 6 days the soldiers were able to infiltrate some of the hideout of those who  referred to themselves as "Ambazonia fighters" Brigadier General Nka Valere  To access the operations, the Commander of the 5th Military Region, Brigadier General Nka Valere and the Commander of the 5th Gendarmerie Region, Brigadier General Ekongwese Divine alongside other top military officials in the Region were on the field on Friday May 1, 2020.
