NORTH WEST YOUTHS BRACING UP FOR NATIONAL YOUTH DAY 2020

Activities marking the 54th edition of the national youth day have been launched in thr chief town of the Northwest Region. The activities were launched by the Secretary General at the Northwest Governor's office Viang Mekala alongside the Regional delegate of Youth affairs of the North west Nimpa Bonaventure


Thousands of pupils and students in Bamenda on Tuesday February 4,2020 respected the randez vouz for the launching of activities ahead of the celebrations of the 54th edition of the National youth day.
The esplanade at the military Camp was transformmed into sociocultural village, were the youth drawn from different schools in Bamenda showcased their know-how in art and craft, innovations, Music, traditional dances representing the cultural diversity of Cameroon caught the attention of all.

The Secretary General at the North West Governor's Viang Mekala seating in for the Governor Northwest Region, expressed his satisfaction for a successful launching with am impressive turnout, this he applauded the organisers and the various establishment for contributing to the success of the event and prayed that the same spirit should flow throughout the youth week. He called on all the school establishments alongside their students and pupils to shun the calls of ghosts towns and lockdowns and come out in their numbers during the celebrations of the National youth day on the 11th of February in all parts of the Region, reaffirming that all security measures have been put inplace to secure the pupils and students before, during and after the celebrations of the National youth day.


On his part the Regional delegate of Youth affairs for the Northwest Region Nimpal Bonaventure based on the theme of this year's edition of the national youth day which is "Youth, peace, decentralization and participation in local Governance for new Cameroon" called the youths to actively take in the life of the Country and that the future of the Nation lies on the youths. He added that for the Nation to grow there is need for peace and the have a very vital role in contributing to the much need peace in the country.

The day ended with a football game between CENAJES and the Staff of Delegation of secondary education for the North West Region with the victory of CENAJES 2goals to zero. The D day which is the 11th of February 2020 promises to be a colourful day in the Region
