PWD, YOSA SURVIVE RELEGATION, BUT MIGHT STILL NOT PLAY IN BAMENDA

PWD and YOSA

According to the North West Regional Fecafoot President,  Construction works on the Ntaafi Staduim which was Launched about 8 months ago stands at 30%

This was a stadium that works were initially suppose to last for 3 months with the hope that PWD Social Football Club and Yong Sport Academy both Clubs based in Bamenda will play atleast the Second Round of the 2022/2023 football season.

On the eve of December 31, 2022 the date that the stadium was to be delivered, Mbigha Felix, North West FECAFOOT President who doubles as the Mayor of Bamanda I Council host to the Stadium in Ntaafi in a press briefing explains reasons why the stadium will not be delivered on the first date that he had announced, he however promise that all was in place for the stadium to see the light of day in the nearest future, 5 months after the stadium is not ready and according to him works at the site stands at 30%.

Hopes were also heighten when Maboang Kessack visited Bamenda on the instructions of the President of FECAFOOT Samuel Eto'o to take stocks on the Bamenda Municipal Stadium with the possibilities for works to be completed after about 6years that works were suspended.

The Hopes were completely buried when a pre season competition to help prepare elite clubs was suspended by the North West Regional FECAFOOT president with the explanation that there was an international court injunction place on the stadium.

After PWD and YOSA had a very difficult football season playing out of home, the management of both clubs feels that it is time to come back and play at home and Bamenda Municipal Stadium remains the idea site given that not much work is expected to be done so that North West clubs can play their home games infront of their fans, the historic site of the Bamenda Municipal Stadium.

The Prime Minister Head of Government also during his last Visit to Bamenda, said he will do everything for works to be Completed at the Bamenda Municipal, however upto now there is no light at the end of the tunnel.

The pressure is high, for Bamenda to have atleast a stadium given that the Region produces extreme football talents at all levels each year.

Will it be possible for Bamenda to host elite one games?

Something can be done before the beginning of the next Football season.
