BUI DIVISION EPICENTER OF SEPERATISTS, GENERAL NKA VALERE PROMISE TO COMPETELY TAKEOVER

 

Presentation of recovered materials 

The Commander of the 5th Joint military Region, Brigadier General NKA Valere has appreciated the work done by Soldiers during the military operation code name "Operation Bui Clean". 

The Operation which lasted for one month was baptized as "Operation Bui clean" headed by the Commander of the 51st Motorised Infantry Brigade, Colonel Matiang Charles Alain with over 300 men with the mission to clean up the entire Bui Division and her environs. The operation which started on May 15, 2021 permitted the troops to get to some hideouts of seperatists within the division which is considered to be the epicenter of the crisis in the North West Region given her geographical location which is easily access through Ngoketunjia, Boyo and Ndonga Mantung Division which facilitate the smuggling the arms and other dangerous weapons.

The arrival of Gen. Nka to Kumbo 

At the tail of the first phase of the operation, the Commander of the 5th Joint Military Region Brigadier General NKA Valere was in Kumbo chief town of Bui division on Tuesday June 15, 2021 to evaluate the work done on the field. 

 While presenting the result of "Operation Bui Clean", Colonel Matiang Charles Alain said that the operation just like previous ones was indeed difficult.

"Given some particularity about Bui division, like the topography and the Cultural tied between the people, it was very difficult to access some of the areas and some times before getting to their hideouts, the separatists had been informed about our presence  and eventually took to the run. This explains why the result interms of materials recovered is not that very significant like in previous operations. However a good number of separatists fighters were neutralise amongst them were some of their renown leaders like general Thunder, general Spider and general Abakwa". Said Colonel Matiang

 Several locally made and war weapons, 10 motorbikes, charms, gallons of illicit fuel amongst other materials were all recovered in the course of the operation.

 According Commander of the operation, 4 soldiers were killed and some others wounded and are presently being treated.

 On his part, General NKA used the ocasion to reiterate the call for the population to collaborate with the military so as to put an end to the fight. He also cautioned the soldiers to respect human right and to be vigilant while on the field.

"I wish to congratulate the soldier for their efforts, and that the work to bring peace in the entire North West Region has to continue, given that it is a Legitimate mission, Legal, Just and Noble with the aim of protecting Cameroonians and their property while ensuring that the territorial integrity of the state is protected". Said Gen. Nka

 The Senior Division Officer for Bui, Lanyuy Harry said that Kumbo which used to be the largest town in the North West Region after Bamenda interms of the Economy and other factors has greatly been down since the escalation of the crisis in the North West and South West Regions. While appreciating the work done by the security forces, he also appealed to the army General to help equipe the military with new and solid equipment such as Cars which can easily access some remote areas and that number of soldiers be increase.

This is the third time that the military is carrying out major operations within Bui division. The first major operation was "Ngokebui", followed by "Operation Bui 1" and now "Operation Bui Clean". Dispite all this operations, Separatist fighters in Bui have proven to be resistant as their activities are still felt on the ground.
