ANTI COVID 19: HRH AZEFOR III PROMISES TOUGH SANCTIONS TO HEAD QUARTERS WHO FAIL TO PROVIDE WATER FOR THE HAND WASHING STATIONS.


The Fon of Nkwen leading by example
 Quarter Heads in Nkwen village,Bamenda lll subdivision have been entrusted to enforce the strict respect of anti covid-19 measures in the locality in an occasion to hand over hand washing stations and liquid soap to the various quarters of the village. The Fon of the Nkwen Fondom cautioned on negligent quarter heads who would run into trouble with the traditional council.

HRH Fon Azefor III was speaking at the donation of the second phase of anti covid-19 consignments to the 58 quarters of Nkwen as he promised heavy sanctions to be levied on any defaulters. "I will pay an un-announced visit and take you unaware, if water is not filled in this drum, that quarter head will pay a fine of 10 goats, 5 jugs of palm wine and a basket of cola-nuts” Fon Azefor said.
Hans washing stations
The paramount ruler used the occasion to applaud the Nkwen Cultural and Development Association for the sacrifice made despite the hard times which shows prove of the love they have for the people to protect themselves against Covid-19. The Fon reiterated to the quarter heads to use the hand washing stations for the right purpose and not for decoration as he obliged all Nkwen sons and daughters to wear their face mask at all times and wash their hands before leaving and entering the quarter.
National President of NCDA handing over anti covid19 material
To the National President of the Nkwen Cultural and Development Association, Paul Asafor, all quarter heads in Nkwen are to play a major role in ensuring that every inhabitant adheres to respect the anti Covid-19 rules. The NCDA President said each of them will be placed in all public places in the Nkwen neighborhood while thanking the Nkwen Elite organization for the first phase of the project, the NCDA President cautioned the quarter heads to make use of the kits or it would be taken back from them.
Coordinator to fight against Covid-19 in Nkwen
The coordinator of the fight against Covid-19 in Nkwen Louise Nforbelieh Ngwa said the project which is in its second phase has cost the Nkwen Cultural and Development Association over 13million CFA Franc. “we have about 120,000 to 200,000 people living within Nkwen jurisdiction and it was difficult to cover it with face mask and hand sanitizers so we thought of increasing the hand wash stations at public squares and institutions in Nkwen so that everyone passing by can wash their hands.” The coordinator said.
Liquid soap  
The first phase of the project had 6000 face-masks, 1000liters of hand sanitizers and 10 hand washing stations donated to some neighborhoods which also incorporated the training of quarter ambassadors. “For the first phase, we raised 5.5million and the second phase we raised 8.5million FCFA, hand washing is very important measure for Covid-19 prevention. So this phase has seen the provision of 100 hand washing stations and each station is accompanied with 6liters of liquid soap, 5liters to refill and 1liter to be placed in the soap dispensers. Each of the 58 quarters provided two ambassadors who were trained to go and be the sensitization agents in the community and are expected to go from door to door sensitizing people on the Covid-19 response and mitigation measures and also taking notes and giving feedback to the NCDA.” Louise Nforbelieh reiterated.
Mayor Bamenda III
The Mayor of the Bamenda III Council Fonguh Cletus appreciated NCDA for standing at the forefront of the development in the Nkwen community while cautioning the users to use it for the right purpose.
The contract to fill the drums with water has been awarded to five persons who will be in charge of the job for three months before the various quarter heads take responsibility.
